Pumpkin Patch... or not.
So, on Monday, Amanda and I thought it would be fun to go to a pumpkin patch here in Lehi for FHE. Only, it wasn't really that fun. A number of things contributed to the overall fail of this night.
1. We didn't end up getting there until about 7 pm and it was already dark and cold.
2. Trey pooped on the way there and then later peed.
3. Hayes fell asleep about 2 minutes before getting there so us waking him up by getting him out of the car did not make for a happy baby.
4. Joe forgot Hayes's blanket (and by Joe I may mean I forgot it) so the poor little guy was freezing and tired.
5. We showed up to a few pumpkins sitting in some hay- aka the "pumpkin patch" what a joke.
6. You pay 5 bucks to get in and do the "activities" and then 5 bucks for a pumpkin.... except there weren't really any activities..... therefore, we asked if we could just get a pumpkin since we would not be going through the 5 foot corn maze or be playing in the 4 foot bouncy house......
So, basically to sum it up. We got there, froze, took a few pictures, picked up some pumpkins from the hay and left. What a good idea Amanda and I had for FHE :) At least we got some quality pumpkins.

David Rhett Andelin
Joe's brother Rhett and his family are in town from Iowa
while he is doing a rotation at the hospital with IHC. A few weeks ago
they welcomed into their family their fourth child, David Rhett
Andelin. We had the opportunity to be there for his blessing this last
Sunday. We managed to snap a few photos to remember the day. Welcome to
the world baby David! You chose a great family to come to!
Family picture after the blessing. |
Joe and Rhett together at last :) |
Hayes chewing on his fist as usual... and yes that is drool all over my blazer... as usual. |
Priesthood holders- all there to help bless David. |

Fall
Fall is in the air and I'm loving it! Fall gets me excited for so many things: holidays, warm clothes, hot chocolate, baked goods, crisp air, pumpkin scented candles, good times with friends and family, AND this year I have a cute baby to stay in and snuggle up with. It's a season full of goodness. September to December are my favorites.... and then I wish we could skip the winter stuff and go straight to summer. Unfortunately, we can't. Anyway, we've been preparing for the season lately by making goodies, crafts, and getting out our warm clothes!
Mom got Brooke, Amanda, and I all the supplies to make these cute "BOO" block letters.
I made this wreath today with a straw wreath and feather boa's.
Hayes is ready for fall, all snuggled up in his hoodie.

5 months
Hayes is 5 months old today! Time is just flying by- he's getting so big. He's already fitting into a lot of his 9 month clothes. Hayes is the happiest baby and smiles all day long. It's so fun to watch him develop. He actually plays with his toys now- while we're driving you can hear him back there shaking his little keys and I love it! haha. Oh, the small things that bring me joy. He is definitely teething and drooling rivers. I'm hoping I can blame his horrible past couple of nights on that. .. Time to break out the baby Tylenol. We love to hear him "talk" and tell us stories and there is nothing better than hearing his sweet little laugh. I feel so lucky to have been blessed with Hayes, he has such a sweet spirit. He's just my little best friend and I'm absolutely in love with him. He's helped Joe and I grow so much and I wouldn't trade our little boy for the world.
