1st Day of School! 2016

Well the day that I had been dreading for weeks has come and gone... Hayes's first day of Kindergarten.  It's only half day, so I'm not sure why I've been so emotional about it! I've just always had my babies home with me all day.  It feels like the beginning of all of them growing up.  I don't know if it's because I had a hard time with friends growing up, but I just always want to be there to make sure kids are being nice to him and he is okay! I know I'm being dramatic. When we showed up to his first day of school, there was music, bubbles, a red carpet with balloons and all of the big kids lined up to cheer on the new Kindergarten students.  The teachers were waiting to greet them on the other side.  It was so sweet! I held it together until my friend asked me how I was doing, and then I pretty much lost it. Glad I had my neighbors there crying with me!  He had a great first day and was excited to go back, so that made me feel a lot better.  This growing up stuff is so hard!!

Today was the first day of "mommy preschool" for Cohen.  We're switching with some neighbors a couple of days a week and I think it will be so good for our timid little guy.  He cried for a minute when I left but my friend said he did awesome the rest of the time and he was totally happy when I came back to get him.  So all in all, it's been a pretty eventful two days!

Last night for family night, I planned a little back to school party for the boys.  We had treats and talked about Hayes's first day and tried to get Cohen excited, we played "Back to School Bingo," and learned from Dad how to make the best paper airplanes and raced them around the yard. I think I just needed to plan something to take my mind off all of this growing up stuff!!

Here are some pictures from all of the Back to School crazy.
