San Diego Part 1! Lego Land + Beach Day

Our California trip was soo fun, tiring, exciting, exhausting, and everything in between. We're to the point where trips are not even close to relaxing, but we do them anyway to watch the kids light up and make memories together. I especially love when the boys get to experience new things and just have fun as brothers. Hayes has a lot of awesome neighborhood buds that he plays with, so Cohen and Tayte were loving having Hayes's attention all week! It was a bummer that by the end of the trip all of the boys were coughing and we had a couple of throw-up incidents along the way, which obviously wasn't ideal, but we tried to make the best of it anyway. We packed Lego Land, the beach, Sea World, hiking, and more beach in our 6 days away.  I took a billion pictures,  in hopes that even though the kids are young they'll remember bits and pieces of the trip... I feel like pictures help you do that, right?!  Plus, that's just what I do. Anyway, it was a lot of fun, but also felt good to have everyone back in their own beds again! Sleep. is. everything. Here is a San Diego overload! Love these 4 boys to pieces!

Pool & Beach Night

The first afternoon we were there, we took the boys to the pool and then to dinner at a restaurant by the beach.  "Getting our toes wet in the ocean," afterward ended up meaning getting completely soaked and resulted in naked boys on the ride back to the condo!

Lego Land

If you ever go to Lego Land, get the apple fries!!
You won't regret it.

I think Lego Land was the boys' favorite part of the trip.  They loved it all. Cohen had a few melt downs due to being too young for some of the rides.  :( Poor guy, he wanted to go on everything with Hayes!  Tayte loved the little "story book" boat ride above (Although the picture isn't really showing that :))!  Such a fun day for the boys, and we were all worn out by the end.

Beach Day

Hayes and Cohen were cracking us up on their boogie boards.
This is how they "surfed" all day and thought it was super awesome!

I think the beach day was my favorite.  It started out rough with Hayes throwing up on the way there, but once we got there and got settled he started feeling a lot better and it ended up being a pretty perfect day. The weather was gorgeous! The boys had fun building sand castles, collecting seashells, chasing birds, and running from waves.  It was a good day with my boys! I should've taken a picture of the amount of sand in the tub that night....

1st Day of School! 2016

Well the day that I had been dreading for weeks has come and gone... Hayes's first day of Kindergarten.  It's only half day, so I'm not sure why I've been so emotional about it! I've just always had my babies home with me all day.  It feels like the beginning of all of them growing up.  I don't know if it's because I had a hard time with friends growing up, but I just always want to be there to make sure kids are being nice to him and he is okay! I know I'm being dramatic. When we showed up to his first day of school, there was music, bubbles, a red carpet with balloons and all of the big kids lined up to cheer on the new Kindergarten students.  The teachers were waiting to greet them on the other side.  It was so sweet! I held it together until my friend asked me how I was doing, and then I pretty much lost it. Glad I had my neighbors there crying with me!  He had a great first day and was excited to go back, so that made me feel a lot better.  This growing up stuff is so hard!!

Today was the first day of "mommy preschool" for Cohen.  We're switching with some neighbors a couple of days a week and I think it will be so good for our timid little guy.  He cried for a minute when I left but my friend said he did awesome the rest of the time and he was totally happy when I came back to get him.  So all in all, it's been a pretty eventful two days!

Last night for family night, I planned a little back to school party for the boys.  We had treats and talked about Hayes's first day and tried to get Cohen excited, we played "Back to School Bingo," and learned from Dad how to make the best paper airplanes and raced them around the yard. I think I just needed to plan something to take my mind off all of this growing up stuff!!

Here are some pictures from all of the Back to School crazy.

Snippets from Washington

I've been on a bit of a blogging break lately because.. life.. and I'm tired. Haha. We've had such a fun summer though and recently had a fun week in Washington with family.  I feel like my boys are always in heaven there just being able to wander the farm and play with cousins that we don't get to see enough! Hayes didn't want to come home and asked if Dad could just buy a house there :) He really loves his time with Grandma Andelin. That kid is such a sweetie and has special place in his heart for both of his sweet Grandmas! We were there over the 4th of July and Joe and his brothers put on an awesome firework show for us! I think the highlight for Cohen was holding a roman candle as it shot off (with help of course :/ #momfail?)  Anyway, I took some pictures with my "big camera" for the first time in awhile so I thought I'd share some snippets from our fun time in Washington.

4th of July

We made a trip to Snow Goose Produce for some yummy ice cream cones!

Bryant Bluberry Farm

This place is the best. It's gorgeous all around.
The boys had fun picking blueberries and playing on all the fun things for kids.

Tayte is catching up quick!

The crew!

Boating/ Whidbey Island

Rhett (Joe's brother) took us out for a fun day on the boat.
Crabbing and cruising over to Whidbey Island for a quick ice cream stop made for some happy boys.

That post chocolate ice cream smile is my favorite.

Joe pulled up 29 crabs in one basket!
Gutting crabs and finding seashells on the beach.

Love him.

It was super nice to get away for a date with Joe.
We went shopping and had lunch on the docks.

On our last night we had a fire and lit off left over fireworks.
We miss it already!
