Fourth of July

We had a fun 4th of July this year! We headed to Blanding with Lant and my parents and spent the weekend doing the usual 4th of July things. (Parade, Carnival, BBQ's, and Fireworks at the park.)
I didn't get a picture of Hayes at the parade because after the band of motorcycles came (which scared him) and then the firetrucks sprayed everyone with water, he was pretty much done with it and just wanted to sit and eat treats with grams.
Hayes enjoyed riding everything he could.
We had a BBQ with the Johnson clan and Hayes thought Grandpa Johnson's tractor was the coolest.
Glow sticks at the firework show. Hayes somehow fell asleep about 5 minutes after they started.

This little punk would not put on his swimming suit at the pool the next day. He also would NOT take off his shirt that he had just gotten all dirty.... I don't know why 2 year olds do what they do? He looked a little homeless.
My parents finalized the sell of their home in Blanding and we said one last goodbye.

Bittersweet walking away from the home I grew up in.  Still glad my parents are up by us instead though :)
Just a little fun at the Dinosaur Museum. Hayes was pretty intrigued.
He kept saying, "It's gonna bite you, mommy!"
What's the 4th of July in Blanding without the melodrama? It was classic as usual.
On Saturday we took out paddle boats and kayaks to the reservoir.
Once again Hayes had a meltdown about putting on a swimming suit but eventually decided it was a good time.
Hayes and Joe cruisin' around in their kayak.  Hayes was so chill in there, just kicking back and relaxing.
Playing in the dirt, throwing rocks in the water, and making sure his chap stick is applied generously.
Hayes got the idea that he had to do it "by himself" as he does a lot of things lately.
My dad and Lant pushed him back in forth as he "paddled."
He thinks he's so big :)
I always love to be in Blanding on the fourth! Such a fun weekend!
