Easter Weekend

Easter Weekend was great as usual this year! We started out with dying Easter eggs at Cody and Amanda's on Friday night.

These are Joe and I's finished Easter eggs. I thought my lady bug was especially cute. The blue egg with the cross on it was supposed to be Joe's red cross egg, but he couldn't find the red so he just decided to dye it blue... haha silly Joe.
Saturday afternoon we headed out for a picnic. Here is the beginnings of the track for the egg roll.
A few new obstacles were added this year.

The first batch to race down the track.

I don't think any of my eggs ever even made it to the bottom... bad racing year for me!Shad's creative Easter eggs.
Lant, Shad, and Dad getting ready to start an egg fight.. You can just see it in their eyes. It wasn't really fair due to all the eggs were at the top by them.

Later that night we went out to eat at Costa Vida and then went bowling! I can't remember who won? On Sunday we went to Cody and Amanda's ward and mom made a delicious honey baked ham dinner! Mmmm... I love holidays and traditions.

Hunger Games Conclusions

So I never wrote how I felt about the Hunger games after I finished them... I just have a few thoughts... For anyone that cares..

1. They were a good way to take up time while waiting not so patiently for Hayes to arrive. Plus I think I'm the last person I know to finally read them.

2. I really think they made me physically ill sometimes- my tummy was always tied up in knots and I was reading so anxiously.

3. I really needed a longer, happier, wrapped up ending at the end of those few days of reading none stop. And I agree with anyone who said the first two books were better than the third.

4. I kept wanting someone to discuss them with and Joe was not so interested. Mostly, he just laughed every time I said the names Katniss or Peeta... "Peeta? Like the bread?"

5. Overall entertaining and I'm excited to see the movies!!

Random side note: Every time I read books I get in this weird mindset where I narrate my own life inside my head all day... I don't mean to do it, but it just happens. For example as I walk into a grocery store, inside my head I'm saying, "As I walked through the doors I breathed in the familiar grocery store smell, while trying not to make eye contact with the scary bearded man to my left I scanned the sticky shopping carts that screamed of slobbering babies, dirty little kids, and germy, never been washed hands, to determine which was the best pick." Seriously, what is wrong with me!? I'm a freak! haha. I will do this ALL DAY no matter what I'm doing. Glad I'm done reading and don't constantly feel the need to write a book inside my head all day...... I know anyone who just read that thinks I'm crazy now.

FHE

For our FHE activity this week, Joe put together the baby swing and I made a paper chain count down until my due date. We're a little bit excited....

Joe is proud of his handy work :)

That is a beautiful paper chain I know... You can't even see my little drawings on it :) I have my 38 week doctor's appointment today so we'll see if I'm progressing at all! Crossing my fingers...

Picnic at the Park

Mom and Dad came up to visit for conference weekend. While they were here we had a little picnic at the park by Cody and Amanda's. (Minus Lant and Brooke were absent.) After we ate, the boys played tennis and Trey and Carter stayed entertained on the playground. Trey especially loved the slides! (Good thing I'm having my own little boy soon- I always take pictures of Trey & Carter like they're my own and blog about them :) haha but I'd take them any day!)
