Quick Trip

This weekend Joe and I made a quick trip down to Blanding so I could "pass my crown" in the Miss San Juan Pageant. We got there Friday afternoon and hung out until the pageant that night.

The pageant went well and I crowned Kara Redd the new Miss San Juan. After the pageant we came home and decided to roast s'mores on the back patio with mom. It was such a nice night and great to relax!

Saturday, after visiting Grandma & Grandpa Webb and picking a stash of cherries from their cherry tree, we loaded up the jet ski's and headed out to the dam.  Joe got his 360's down on the knee board and mom and I tubed! It was pretty intense- she kept knockin' me off though.

All and all it was a fun weekend and we are excited to go back down for the 4th of July festivities!

Baby Nurseries?

So lately I have been looking at baby nurseries online. No I am not pregnant I just have this new obsession with  cute baby nurseries!!  I clearly have a little too much time on my hands but seriously they're so cute. There is one set back- they are so expensive! Who knew?! I'll be like 50 before I can afford one of these dream nurseries- and by that time I probably won't be able to have children. Ah well, I'll probably have to sew everything when the time comes haha. On second thought- I'll have Grandma Webb sew everything and it will look just like the pictures! I've started a folder of all the cute nursery items I love so I posted a few of them.

Is this too much to ask??

A Little Bit of Everything

Well we've been busy as usual! Recently we took a cruise to Mexico and it was a blast- Joe got a little bit sick for some of it but we still enjoyed ourselves.  We got to go back to one of Joe's mission areas which was a total adventure. First a 2 hour bus ride to this poor little area- then it was some serious culture shock- I could not believe how HOT/HUMID and poor the area was. I could not fathom that people really lived there (especially Joe for 6 months!) It was fun visiting some families although I couldn't understand anything anyone said- but Joe translated for me :) It definitely opened my eyes to get a taste of what his mission was like. So glad to have married such an amazing guy!

Cabo San Lucas!!

Spring term is almost over now. HURRAY! Joe and I are taking advanced english together and that has been kinda fun- well as fun as advanced english gets.  Today we had a friendly in class competition and I think it's safe to say Joe and I are ridiculously competitive.  All for a little piece of candy- we were probably a little loud and forceful in our opinions of what the rules should be and making sure they were followed EXACTLY. Needless to say we smoked everyone. Anyway class is over on the 17 whoooo! Then I'm done :)

Sometimes in english class I secretly take pictures on my laptop

I've been taking a cake decorating class at Michaels and it's been really fun! It's a beginning class so I still have lots to learn but it's going to take a lot of practice and patience to get good... good thing I'm such a patient person...........just ask joe :)

We're still enjoying our newlywed life and making each other happy!

Just relax'n watching movies!

Just Lately

Recently Jessica Feely, a photographer from Seattle, contacted me and asked if Joe and I would come do a photo session with her.  I guess her sister that goes to school at BYU mentioned us or something like that, anyway we did it while she was in Utah for a workshop! She was super nice, fun, and is really talented.  We want to order a few because we really like them, but we already have so many pics of ourselves from engagements, bridals and the wedding that it's getting kind of ridiculous. Sooo I dunno what to do haha. Here are some of our favorites!

Also, this week is our last week of classes at BYU and finals begin on Friday... Stress!! It will be a busy couple of weeks.  We have found that we have done significantly better in school since we've been married so that is a plus. :)  We also have a writing class together spring term so that will be nice.  Spring term will be my very last term for my undergraduate degree- whoo hoo!   To help us get through this next week and a half we've made a cruise countdown calender.  12 Days!!

P.S. you can click on any of the pictures to make them bigger.

There are a few that we are smiling I just didn't post them! We like to come across as hardcore...

Busy, busy, busy!!

Nothing TOO exciting has happened in the past few weeks. Mostly just school work and regular work at Wells Fargo for Joe. He's taking night classes after work this semester so he could fit everything in his schedule- he's so busy!  I hate that I don't get to see him as much as I'd like to, but I'm very grateful for such a hardworking husband. He's amazing! I keep pretty busy with school work too, and I am looking forward to being done for good after spring term... 4 more months! Yay!!

We went snowboarding with my siblings over President's Day weekend. The pictures below were taken before I was wet, freezing, frustrated, and sore... I'll admit I spent most of the time on my rear end, but luckily I have some extra padding in that area... Word to the wise-start out on the bunny hill!!

We had a very good Valentine's Day! We went out to eat and then to the Valentines Day movie on Friday night since Valentines was actually on a Sunday this year. I wrote a ridiculous poem to Joe that had a bunch of little presents that went along with different inside jokes and funny things we do.  Joe got up and made me the best breakfast, with chocolates and rose pedals everywhere, along with flowers, a tanning pass, and a new outfit! Yesss.. I love Valetines!

Also, recently Leia asked Shad, Lant, Brooke, Joe, and I to be in the Buckle fashion show.  So we said what the heck, why not?  Joe ended up having to work late but it was kinda fun. Afterwards, Amanda, Trey and Carter joined the crew and we went out to eat at Wingers.

We've also enjoyed going to the gym with Shad and Brooke a lot lately.. trying to get smokin' for the cruise in April :) haha jk. They came over to the apartment one night so Brooke and I painted our nails (shad's suggestion) while Joe and Shad of course played the wii... and then things got intense when we played cards.. I won't go there.

I'm going to try to be better about blogging even if our lives aren't all that exciting! But that's all for the past few weeks!
