To Do List

"I am what I am, because I did what I did, when I had nothing to do."

In my family this is almost an overused saying- my parents always repeated this to us growing up and it was one of the many quotes my mom had on our fridge. I've been thinking about it lately because well... I don't have much to do at the moment and I'm going a little crazy. When Joe and I gave our talks last Sunday on the value of work, I focused a lot on not being idle- so I figure I should probably work on it.. It's weird because growing up I was always going 100 miles an hour and now I'm scraping to fill my time with worthwhile things to do. I kind of miss my page full "to do lists." I know once I have the baby that will change- but for now I'm making a goal to do more productive things to fill my time! The nursery is basically done so I'll have to come up with new projects to do and I'll try to blog about them. We'll see how long it lasts... I figure writing it on the blog will give me a little added incentive to do it... I found a blog called "homemade by jill" that has a lot of cute ideas so that's a good start :)

Give Me A Break

This last weekend the Webb family gathered in St. George for a little family vacation. We were hoping to soak up some sun but unfortunately it rained the majority of the time. We had to adjust some plans but still had plenty of fun. Saturday we shopped at the outlets and had yummy Brick Oven for lunch. I spent a lot time in The Children's Place, I'm in love with buying little baby clothes! Then we went to the recreation center to play in the huge aquatic center and do some rock climbing. No I did not participate in the swimming- you could not pay me to put on a swimsuit in this condition. To top it off, of course we ate Cafe Rio for dinner and nelson's custard for dessert... Mmm hmm. It makes me full just thinking about all that food!

Trey loved the water!
Sunday was mostly filled with playing games, relaxing, and too much snacking. Joe and I faced Cody and Amanda in horse shoes- Me and Manda had to take about ten steps forward to even get close to scoring any points... Cody & Amanda won but I was just getting my game started when it got too dark to play so.. Monday brought a little bit of sunshine and everyone got a little tennis playing in before we packed up. Then it was back home to everyday life. It's always sad when the break is over but I usually find myself looking forward the normal day to day life with Joe too. Just the little routines become special and sometimes it's not so bad to come back to our little home. Thanks for the fun break Mom & Dad!
In other news, Hayes's nursery is almost done!! Mom did a bunch of work sewing the curtains, bumper, crib skirt, and pillows. Pretty much everything- all I did was the little quilt... But it's all coming together so cute! I'll be sure to post pictures when it is complete... I know everyone is just dying to see it :) Also, just some recent happenings. Joe and I talked in church last Sunday on the value of work. Who better to talk on that than Joe? Hardest worker ever! And I am almost 30 weeks along now. Crazy! We have our first prenatal class at the hospital tonight. I know Joe is especially excited.... Baby bump pic to come!

Little of This, Little of That

It's been a while since I last blogged so I need to play catch up! I forgot my camera over Christmas so no pictures :( But we had a great Christmas in Blanding filled with family, traditions, and lots of good food!

I forgot about these pictures of doing Christmas crafts at Grandma Webb's over the Thanksgiving break too, so I thought I'd just post them now. Mom, Amanda, and I each did one of the Christmas Countdowns and Brooke made the cute "Believe" blocks. Thanks grandma!
I've slowly been working on the baby nursery. It is turning out really cute I must say! We got the crib set up this last week (and by "we" I mean Joe put everything together) so all the furniture is in! Whoo hoo! This is a picture of Joe putting the glider and ottoman together- soo comfy- I already sit in it all the time. Plus an outfit that Joe picked out for the baby- can you tell he is going to be just like his daddy??This last week Amanda, Brooke, and I headed to Blanding for a little "girls get away" I guess you could call it. Mom threw me a nautical themed baby shower while we were home. A little early for baby showers, but I probably won't be in Blanding again before I have the baby so we snuck it in! Of course Mom had all sorts of creative little ideas planned for it and it turned out super cute. I got a lot of cute things and definitely some baby essentials. Thank you to everyone who came!

Also while we were home, Mom and I worked on the baby's bedding and curtains for the nursery. Yep we're sewing it! The little blanket is done and I love it. I'll have to post pictures when everything is done.

The last night we were there, the Johnson girls got together for a girl's night at Laici's. I think it's safe to say we are a competitive bunch. Some games got a little heated haha. I don't want to know what it would have been like if there were actually prizes for the winners :) All and all a fun night and a fun trip.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS

We've had a lot going on these past few weeks and we sure have been busy! First of all we found out we're having a little boy! Joe was so excited when we found out- when the nurse said "It's a boy!" he lifted his hands in the air and was like, "YEAH!!" I think the whole office heard... haha. Then I saw a little tear when she was showing us his tiny hands and feet, how cute :) I thought I was supposed to be the emotional one?? I also thought for sure it was a girl before we went in.. so much for mother's intuition lol. But we're super excited- baby preparations are in full swing now and I am loving it!We went to Blanding for Thanksgiving this year and had a nice, relaxing vacation. We got to attend my friend Shea's sealing while we were there, which was really special! Some other activities that filled our weekend were visiting with family, playing in the snow on the mountain, doing crafts at Grandma Webbs, BYU vs. U of U game, and a little game of thanksgiving bingo- which we dominated... but were very humble about...Our 1 year anniversary was on November 28th! It seems like the past year flew by but at the same time like we've been married forever. That doesn't really make sense I know. I'm so happy I found Joe, he's an amazing husband and I can't wait to watch him be an incredible dad.
My mom stayed with us this past week while recovering from her surgery. She was supposed to take it easy but I don't think my mom knows what that means. Joe and I came home to dinners and home made bread all week! Mmm... Not to mention her repainting some furniture and doing other miscellaneous things around the house. I know, I've got a lot to live up to! Hope my kids are that lucky!

Right now Joe is getting anxious for finals to be over next week and to have a little break from school. We're both looking forward to Christmas time and enjoying this busy holiday season!

Happy Birthday Haven!

Ok everyone, I'm going to use Haven's birthday as a good excuse to make my first blog post. Just wanted to let my beautiful, amazing wife know how much I love her and wish her the happiest 21st birthday ever. I am so grateful for her and all that she does for me. I know she will be the most amazing mother to our little boy (fingers crossed)... Let me just say that any child that is born into this family is going to be the luckiest baby ever to have Haven as their mom. I'd like to make a special shout out to Chris and Stacy for raising such an amazing girl. Thanks for passing her off to me. That must have been hard cause I could never pass her back. I love her more and more every day and I know that it will only continue to be that way. Happy birthday love, I hope you had a very special day!

Here are some examples of the crazy faces that Haven makes- one of the reasons I love her so much!

Just Playing

Last week Joe had Thursday off for the holiday, so we decided to go to Park City for the day! We spent a few hours shopping, took a nice little stroll along main street, then went for some delicious dinner.  So nice to have a whole day together.  Saturday we went over to Corey and Chey's to roast some mallows and starbursts over  a fire.  Love me some fire roastin!

I loved how park city was all lit up with Christmas lights. Just makes for a good mood.
It got a little chilly at night.
Corey and Joe were having too much fun burning Corey and Cheyenne's old school books and papers... Crazy boys.

On to more exciting news- we have an appointment to do a gender ultrasound next Tuesday( nov. 23)!! Right before Thanksgiving- yay! Any guesses??? I think my belly just decided it was pregnant today because I think it tripled all of the sudden. ANNDD I have work off the whole week next week for Thanksgiving- whoo hoo! It's gonna be a great week! ( Oh and don't forget to wish me happy birthday this Sunday :))
